What do a reality TV winner, a crooked mayor, and your neighbor all have in common?
For most Americans, taxes mean filing in April, maybe getting a refund, and then forgetting it all until next year. For the average American, it really is that simple. And fortunately for them, that’s probably where their tolerance for tax knowledge starts and ends.
But what about the guy who won the reality competition show you watched last night after 39 nights of starving on a deserted island? Or the mayor of that town you’ve never heard of who got busted for embezzling city funds? Or your neighbor (who you wave to with all five fingers, of course) who sold his dad’s sports card collection for a handsome profit at your community yard sale?
Hold everything. Don’t these guys know they’ve gotta pay the IRS before they spend even a cent? Do we really expect them to stop everything and write a check to the IRS? If you ask the IRS, it’ll tell you the average American is presumed to understand every last word of the tax code. So, uh, yes.
Attorney Chandler Keeton is here to make the not-so-simple digestible, the uncertain certain – and, dare we say, make the mundane and the arcane… actually captivating?
Chandler is one of the founding employees of Milestone Tax Solutions, a premier tax resolution firm with offices in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With a dedicated focus on resolving complex tax issues, Attorney Chandler Keeton brings extensive experience and proven success in helping hundreds of clients navigate the challenges of tax disputes. His practice encompasses negotiating with the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities to settle back taxes, by securing Offers in Compromise and hardship statuses, defending clients during audits, and obtaining relief from bank levies and wage garnishments. Chandler has also successfully disputed improper tax assessments before the United States Tax Court and before IRS Offices of Appeals.
In addition to tax, debt resolution is Chandler’s area of expertise. He has resolved hundreds of thousands of dollars through Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcies, providing diligent representation and giving clients the fresh start that they deserve. He also has extensive knowledge of the Federal Fair Credit Reporting and Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts, litigating resolution on behalf of clients who have been harmed by collections and credit reporting violations.
Chandler is licensed to practice law in Nevada and is admitted to both the United States Tax Court and the Federal District Court of Nevada.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with the highest honors from California State University, Channel Islands, in 2017, and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 2021. During law school, Chandler demonstrated his commitment to client advocacy as a representative for taxpayers in disputes before the California Office of Tax Appeals. Through the school’s Tax Appeals Assistance Program, he achieved multiple dismissals of tax claims against clients brought by the Franchise Tax Board.
Tax matters aside, Chandler enjoys spending time with his family, watching hockey, and collecting trading cards.
